This is my first official blog and blog posting – woohoo! I figure I’ll start off by outlining some of what will be found within the pages of my TreeWalker Designs website.
Firstly, and most obviously, is the blog. I will make frequent attempts to keep this current and up to date with things that are going on in the life of TreeWalker Designs as well as my personal life (not too personal). I will be posting things that are pertinant to the business, i.e. new design projects, personal projects, photography work, etc. as well as some of my personal photography, design, hikes (this is after all TreeWalker), bits of my culinary adventures (I’ve been told that I am an awesome cook), and perhaps even a smattering of my shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute – zen flute) adventures, and who knows what other madness will venture forth into this site.
Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, you will find my portfolio page. Here you will find a sampling of my graphic design work, as well as some photography. I will show as diverse a variety as I can, highlighting my areas of speciality and focus. Much of the work will be displayed as Flash movies with some form of interactivity, other work will be static imagery with plenty of explanation of what you are viewing. This will be an ever evolving creature. As of today, there is no work on this part of the site, but they should be starting to appear in the coming days.
Third on the list is my “Services” page. Here you will (soon) find an ever increasing resource of information about what services I offer to my clients. I will be highlighting my branding and identity work as this is my main area of focus and speciality. There will also be pages on book design and layout, where I will detail my offerings as a designer of books and book covers aimed at the self-publishing and print-on-demand industry. Here you will be able to find tools and resources for print on demand services, companies, as well as information on how to work with me to create a successful, professionally designed book ready for printing.
Fourth, the “About” page. This should be somewhat self-explanatory. I will cover my experience as a graphic designer and photographer, who and what TreeWalker Designs is and what is offered, as well as a page for my professional resume/CV.
The Fifth and final page (I know there are six headings on the navigation, but I can’t really count the home page) is the best way to contact me. I have all of my contact information there, as well as a form that you may fill out directly.
I do hope you enjoy your stay here and return frequently, especially in the coming weeks. There is very little information here now, but there is so much more for me to offer you. Oh, and if you haven’t caught on yet, I am a little bit sarchastic and have a rather strange sense of humor that many people seem to rather enjoy. I do hope there is nothing that offends. If so, please do write me and let me know and I will fix things as best I can.
Thank you,
Damon Atkinson
