Well, this posting has been a long time coming. For the past few months I have been focussed on rebuilding my website. Trying to decide on the best approach. The best program to anchor it in. The best format. What to include on the site. I have spent a great deal of time looking into Flash development, Actionscript 3.0, OOP development (Object Oriented Programming), trying to get a grasp on the language.
I started looking at WordPress and found something that seems to have come close to the mark as far as what I was hoping to accomplish. The key elements I had been looking for were interactivity (Flash does this nicely), versatility, flexibility, and the ability to present a variety of media and information forms to you, the reader. The flexibility of WordPress to deliver the words that you are reading along with the different visual media available will help me to express my abilities, my talents, and my services to you.
This website is likely the first, perhaps only, contact you will have with me and my work. Like most businesses, I am hoping to persuade you to spend some time reading my blog posts, looking at my portfolio, scouring my list of services and enticing you to contact me to discuss employing my services as your graphic professional.
As this site had been evolving and refining its form, function and look I had needed to settle down on a name and a visual element that will bind my name and service to your consciousness, so that when you are in need of a design professional you will want to call me. Hence was born TreeWalker Designs. See my posting on “What is TreeWalker Designs?” to gain a better understanding behind the name. As for the image, I wanted something that showed off my clean, refined, elegant, and fresh design style, while also emphasising a bit of who I am as an individual – because as a graphic designer/photographer my personallity is every bit as important as my ability as a graphic designer. My diverse spectrum of interests and experiences helps to build an understanding of a wide range of topics, companies, businesses, people to better build that perfect brand, identity, marketing piece, book/book cover design.
