Blue Wave Seafood Restaurant is one of those projects the grew out of another completely different project. The design that this started out as (was intended to be) wasn’t really coalescing and it really started to look like it was trying to become a restaurant, so I let it run its course, nothing of the original design remains beyond the use of blue. Funny how those things happen.

I was intrigued enough by the concept that I explored and expanded on the idea. I had written a business plan for PresentThis! a company that offers full portfolio and presentation consultation services and products for students and companies in need of professional presentations.

What qualities differentiate, what I call, a “magic logo creator” logo from a professionally designed logo, or identity?
Well to start off, the “magic logo creator” websites lure you in with promises of professionally designed logos, customized for your company or product for ONLY $49. What this consists of is you providing the name of the company, the kind of business, if you have a ‘mascot’, tag line, short 1-2 sentence description of your business, or what kind of image/colors you perceive as relating to the name.

Branding Iron
One Star Ranch restaurant is one of the best barbeque restaurants in Atlanta. While I was working as a graphic designer for Jezebel Magazine, I was approached about creating an ad for them to run in the magazine. I began playing around with the layout and the logo and decided to try turning the logo into a ‘white-hot branding iron’.
